About College House Bed and Breakfast
College House Bed and Breakfast opened in 2007 and for many years was a full-service, traditional bed and breakfast. In 2016, Innkeeper Kathy went back to school, attending nearby Ashland Theological Seminary. She received her Masters in Divinity, graduating in 2019, and now works as a hospice chaplain and pastor of two small churches. Since that time, College House Bed and Breakfast has adjusted our focus to offering long-term rentals to housemates. One of our housemates likes to travel during the summers, so we occasionally have availability in June, July, and August for short-term rentals. Email or text Kathy to inquire.
Our Town
Ashland Ohio's motto is "Ashland Ohio, Someplace Special." People in Ashland sometimes seem almost to scoff at the idea, but having returned to a small town after having lived in on the East Coast in a crazy, stressful urban environment, we can assure you that Ashland Ohio really is someplace special, where the people are friendly, the traffic is light, and the neighborhoods are safe. It's unpretentious, and we love it!
The House
Our home is a spacious Colonial Revival American Foursquare. This truly American house style developed in part as a reaction to the excesses of the Victorian era, and featured plain, efficiently laid out floor plans. Our Foursquare was built around 1910 and featured closets and large windows in a relatively compact cube. While most Foursquare homes have a large porch covering the entire front of the house, ours was substantially renovated in 1951 to become a "Colonial Revival" style Foursquare house. Instead of a large covered porch we have a smaller porch, almost a stoop, with wrought iron railings. The color scheme is white with black shutters, with other "colonial" touches inside. The most common reaction to people who tour the house... "It's bigger on the inside!"
Our Housemates
Our current housemates are all fairly quiet, and range in age from mid-20s to mid-70s. Most of us are out of the house during the day, but we pass each other sometimes in the kitchen or other common areas. We work with long-term housemates to remove decor and rearrange furniture as necessary to make the room their own.

Limited availability
Currently all of our rooms are full of wonderful housemates. We have availability for a few weeks this July and August as one of our housemates will away for several months. Email or text Kathy to inquire, or to be put on a waiting list for a long-term furnished rental.
